The LG 290c carries a price TAG of $ 49.99 for TracFone, and $ 59.99 for Straight Talk and Net10. There are discounts available for both TracFone, Net10 and which I'll discuss more at the end of this article.

This model includes a slide-out numeric keypad, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and voice activated dialing. I'm using the Net10 version for my review, but from what I've read the Straight Talk and TracFone versions are identical, except for the cost of minutes. TheTracFone version also has double minutes for life as a standard feature, which is valuable to TracFone customers.

I've tested all three of the newest LG models, and I must say I'm impressed with all of them, especially with the LG 290c. It seems to be a significant upgrade over the older LG 200 c, LG 3280, or Kyocera 126c, which are some of the models it's replacing.

Voice quality and signal reception are great, and battery life is excellent as well. The screen is very nice-sharp and bright, and also larger than most other phones from TracFone, Net10, or Straight Talk.

The construction seems very solid, including the slider mechanism. If you open it up, you will see the standard 12-key numeric keypad, as well as four shortcut keys. These shortcut keysare to compose a text message, view images, camera, and calendar.
